Santa Ter (like Saint Lucia)
Santa Ter (like Saint Lucia)
Ter appears in this image as Saint Lucy. According to legend, she gave all her possessions to the poor and gouged out her eyes because she did not want to marry the man they chose for her. But God saw her purity and gave her back other, even more beautiful ones. The eyes on Ter's tray symbolize her always different view of the world. The consul Pascasio wanted her to be taken to a brothel to be raped, since she refused to offer an offering to her pagan gods nor did she want to marry, but she said "If the mind does not consent, the body will not be defiled." They tried to move her with a thousand men but they did not succeed. They also tried with 2,000 oxen and they did not succeed either. These oxen, which symbolize the vicissitudes that youtubers have to do their work, are symbolized in the painting by the two skulls at the bottom. They also called the magicians and decided to sprinkle her with hot urine, which also did not work. Finally, they tried to burn her alive, but she wouldn't burn. Finally, they stabbed her in the throat, but she still kept talking before dying. The lower part of the work symbolizes all the ideas that bubble up in Ter's head, and which crystallize in her videos. Her head is illuminated as a symbol of her brilliant work. At the bottom, two palm leaves appear, which symbolize the oasis, life, and are also the attribute of the first saints. In this case, they symbolize the first cultural YouTubers who achieved success and impact on the platform.
