Collection: Blue faces

There are experiences that mark a before and after. Moments that awaken new sensibilities, that force you to look at the world through different eyes. For an artist, these discoveries not only transform their way of seeing, but also their way of creating.

Antonio García Villarán has traveled to the Algarve many times. He knows its streets, its landscapes, its unmistakable light. But each trip reveals something new to him, pushing him to explore uncharted terrain of art. This time, it was tile-making. A vast, omnipresent heritage. On every facade, on every corner, an art that, despite its apparent simplicity, contains immense visual and narrative richness.

Blue everywhere. Cobalt blue that covers walls and centuries of history. A color that not only embellishes, but speaks, captivates, and leaves a mark.

With this revelation, Antonio could hardly wait to return to the studio. The blue had invaded him, imbuing him with an overwhelming energy.

The result is Blue Faces , a collection of sixteen small-format portraits that seek not to represent someone, but something. Gazes that challenge, brushstrokes that transform, ideas transformed into paint.
