The Weeping Woman
The Weeping Woman
“La Llorona”. This large-format work represents my favourite drag muse, Hugaceo Crujiente. I have had the opportunity to meet her, I even had dinner with her to investigate and discover her creative secrets. In this portrait, so full of colour, with pinkish tones, full of pearls and spectacular make-up, you can also see something of the tragedy that lies within. For me it symbolises a difficult childhood in which a person with these concerns did not fit in. Even so, she managed to turn her weakness into a strength, and she is presented to us as a great crying Diva, with eyes like earrings, beautiful lace and matching gloves. Her look says it all.
