“The spiral of the cat’s dreams” is an oil painting on canvas measuring 195cm X 97cm. The idea came to me while watching my cats, Sphinx and Cartuchito, rest. When they sleep, they make sounds and move. I think they dream, just like humans do. So I wondered what they dream about. My cats’ world is the house, their cat friends, the dog Indra, @claudiaruizcivico and me. In this work I show Claudia, not as one of the cats, but as part of their dreams. They are all forming a spiral that reminds us of the infinity symbol. In this dream, there is no perspective or naturalism in the colors, nor in the sizes of the bodies. I use a lot of impasto to emphasize what interests me most and I love the plasticity I have achieved.How do you think cats dream?
