Collection: Drag Muses

RuPaul, the world's leading drag queen, once said, "We're all born naked, everything else is drag."

Ever since I saw their shows and began researching the world of drag queens, I felt inspired. I saw that behind the joy, color, and creativity they displayed, there was something dramatic. Their lives had been very hard, and that was also reflected in their image. I decided to research drag queens and came to the conclusion that there is a clear difference between transvestism and drag art. Human beings have always wanted to be different. In this case, even changing gender. Transvestites were inspired by female artists, singers, folklorists, and actresses as models for their transformation. But drag queens are different. They have managed to turn their transformation into a work of art. When I see their makeup, their dresses, their performances, and their lifestyle, they inspire me greatly, and the works you are about to see now are generated in my mind. Painting drag queens is something completely contemporary. They were born as such in the 20th century, since anything else could not be considered drag artists. This is the beginning of a path that I will follow.
